Mountain Gorilla Competition

A Unique Opportunity To Win A Trip To See The Endangered Mountain Gorilla

To be drawn on the 1st September 2004

The mountain gorilla (Gorilla beringei beringei) is one of the most endangered apes in the world. Hunting and habitat destruction have driven it to the verge of extinction, and today only 700 are left in the wild, with no individuals ever surviving in captivity. It is now found only in two small, protected areas of forest in Uganda's Bwindi National Park and the Virunga Volcano Region where Rwanda, Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo meet.

As one of our closest living relatives, a close encounter with the mountain gorilla is one of the most exhilarating experiences imaginable. It is the largest of the great apes but, far from a monstrous King Kong, a highly intelligent and peaceful vegetarian. For anyone interested in wildlife, a visit to the mountain gorillas is one of the experiences of a lifetime!

Fauna & Flora International (FFI), in association with wildlive! UK, Volcanoes Safaris and Kenya Airways, is giving away two Premier World tickets plus an all inclusive four day gorilla safari. By entering the competition you will help fund work to ensure the continued conservation of mountain gorillas and other endangered species.

What you have to do -

  • Visit www.wildlive.org/safari to find out details on how to enter the competition and the Terms & Conditions.
  • OR if you don't have time, you can make a mobile donation of £3 by texting GORILLA to 87133 and you will automatically be entered into the competition prize draw. (Depending on your network between £2.08 and £2.28 will directly benefit the conservation work of FFI)
  • Please tell all your colleagues, contacts and friends - to give this unique opportunity to as many people as possible.

Please note that the competition closes on 1st September 2004.

Good luck and thank you for your support!
