Travel and Tourism Conservation Group (TTCG)

Of all the environmental charities, none is
more involved in protecting the basic tourism resource than Friends of
Conservation - Mark Brackenbury, Chairman, World Tourist Organisation
Business Council In 1991 Friends of Conservation (FOC) together with member of the travel industry, established the Travel and Tourism Conservation Group (TTCG). FOC works closely with the UK tour operators on programmes to protect the natural environment and minimise the adverse impact sometimes caused by a large number of tourists. The programme helps to finance projects around the world and promotes sound ecotourism practices.

Friends of Conservation, together with the members of the TTCG, designed and implemented the Conservation Code, a leaflet of informative and practical guidelines, to show visitors how to help minimise their impact on their holiday destination. Click here to see a PDF version of the code.
